People development plays a significant role in building the large organization. Now we have can hear the noise of SMAC (Social, Mobile, Analytics and Cloud) technological world. People who are the lever for the technological transformation of the industry and catering their learning style is indeed a tough challenge to the learning and development professionals.
On a average an Indian spends 3 Hrs
on social media via mobile. The learners are feeling more comfortable on
learning new thing on facebook, wats app, Linkedin, Twitter...the list goes on.
How an organization can build the
platform for social learning:- Please, don't connect social media learning to
knowledge management or companies blog/Wikipedia. Because social learning is
more on to the emotional side of the individual. Learners are not at all
blocked to express anything and anytime. No moderator exists.
We the lnd professional should
promote the social learning by not engineering the entire process. Rather allow
the learning to be the key stake holders of the activity. Never create the
firewalls between the people learning abilities and learning opportunities.
Allow the people to go for ride on any internal forums for learning new things.
It can be a questions related to the technology or about the business
management.
By creating a social media learning
app can be very helpful since most of the employees would like to learn on the
go. It is perceived that the social media learning is a wave which would fades
away as the time passes by. In fact social learning is going to be the key
contributor towards the organization learning and development.
